The Canadian Association of University Teachers announces the 55th annual J.H. Stewart Reid Memorial Fellowship for 2025-2026 Doctoral Studies. The J.H. Stewart Reid Memorial Fellowship has been established through voluntary contributions to honour the memory of the first Executive Secretary of the Association.

This Fellowship is available for doctoral studies only.

One fellowship in the amount of $5,000.

Duration

The award is for one year.

Qualifications

A) Registration in a doctoral program at a Canadian university.

B) Canadian citizenship or residence in Canada with landed immigrant status or convention refugee status from April 30, 2016 or earlier.

C) Candidates must have completed their comprehensive examinations, or equivalent, by April 30, 2025, and be registered and in good standing in their doctoral program as of September 1, 2025.

D) An excellent academic record in a graduate program.
